Three Key Nutrients for Egg Health While Preparing for Pregnancy
📣 Yun-I pharmacist shares the “three key nutrients for egg health”
Pharmacist Yu-Ling Chang explains:
According to statistics from Taiwan’s Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, in 2022, 57% of women in Taiwan were over the age of 30 when they first got married.
A total of 68% of women gave birth to their first child after the age of 30, and 5% gave birth to their first child after the age of 40. Late marriage and late childbearing have become a trend.
In general, ovarian function begins to decline after women pass the age of 35.
However, the age on your ID card does not necessarily represent the age of your ovaries. Lifestyle and work stress may also accelerate the decline of ovarian function.
When a woman is over 40 years old, or when her AMH blood test value is below 1.2, ovarian reserve may begin to decline.
This can lead to fewer follicles, lower egg quality, and fewer usable eggs.
If you want to strengthen your egg health, nutritional support can be helpful.
Before undergoing egg freezing or egg retrieval for IVF treatment, it is recommended to take the “three key nutrients for egg health” according to your doctor’s instructions:
DHEA, Coenzyme Q10, and Vitamin D3.
These supplements may help promote follicle development, improve egg quality, and increase the number of eggs retrieved.
